Coming soon Alma Santa Eulalia

12/03/2020

Alma Santa Eulalia, a new members' club and a private work space in the heart of Palma, in the Plaza de Santa Eulalia, right opposite the church of the same name. A building with soul. It is a unique concept, originally from Stockholm, founded to provide intellectual and social nourishment to the members, offering a unique space to work and meet.

Alma occupies 2 floors of the existing structure plus a direct access to the roof. Along with the work spaces and meeting areas on the ground floor and first floor, both designed around the existing patio, a small apartment is provided. A complete restoration of the existing building is needed to accommodate the new program and new technologies.

The project restores the building completely, maintaining and improving the valuable elements that exist in the space, such as tile floors, fireplaces, carpentry and ironmongery: valuable elements of the past, memory and witness of the old building.

Special attention is given to the existing collection of tile floors that are removed, cleaned and reinstalled in their original position. A unique catalogue is created where each room has its own identity, reinforcing the concept of the members' club: a mixture of work spaces with social interaction.

GRAS Reynés Architecture Studio designs the project together with Fredrik Carlström, Alma's creative director.
