This week is the 4th anniversary since the opening of TENNIS TERRACES, a commercial/sports project by GRAS Reynés Architecture Studio that hosts the annual WTA circuit, a tennis club with 5 grass courts and 5 clay courts, as well as a clubhouse at the top of the plot.

Given the shape of the terrain, our team of architects chose to merge the project with the natural context. On this basis, they used a strategy of terraces in order to place the different tennis courts and, following the slope to the top, the clubhouse. Around the main court, which is just below the clubhouse, a series of carved levels are created with massive blocks of natural Marés stone, forming grandstands that can hold 1500 spectators.

The clubhouse is then designed along these lines of thought, with large cantilevers that "fly" over the main court and offer large terraces and different environments available to guests, while providing strategic points to enjoy the views.

TENNIS TERRACES is the annual headquarters of the Mallorca Open, one of the most important women's sporting event in Spain. This time, the WTA tournament featured the participation of three very important and renowned figures in women's tennis such as Maria Sharapova, Angelique Kerber and Viktoria Azarenka. As well as the presence of Spain's number one, the Mallorcan Rafael Nadal, who uses the facilities of TENNIS TERRACES to train and prepare before the 2019 Wimbledon Championship.

This weekend, more specifically on Sunday 23, will take place the final of the Mallorca Open 2019 tournament in the main court at 14hs.
