Mayca Sánchez Carvajal

Architect

1982, Granada, ES

Mayca S. Carvajal graduated from the Universidad de Arquitectura Superior de Granada as an architect and completed her academic training with the Master in Collective Housing at the Polytechnic University of Madrid in 2009. She has been working as an architect in the Cano Lasso Studio since 2009 and has participated in numerous national and international competitions along with the realization and supervision of several projects within this team.

Her professional career continues at Gras Arquitectos where she currently works. The construction of a Tennis Club in Santa Ponsa finished recently. It is one of the most interesting projects with a realization and execution in record time. The project consists of a complex with a social club building and 16 tennis courts of different surfaces. The central track has been made with a stone tide stand that marks the unique character of the project. The sensitivity of the choice of materials, together with the efficiency and sustainability of the materials mark the lines of architecture to be followed in future projects.

Mayca currently supervises the development of the design of a tourist complex next to the aforementioned Tennis Club in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca. The pre-existence of a sports club with gym and spa and the new creation of a 5-star hotel next to it, propose a new challenge for Gras Arquitectos.
